Shannon Levin, CPO is an American Board Certified (ABC) prosthetist and orthotist. She graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine's Orthotic and Prosthetic programs which are affiliated with the renowned Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
Shannon first became interested in prosthetics and orthotics while working in the Biomechanics Laboratory at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. At the time, she was working on research involving normal human locomotion in various conditions, and became curious about pathological gait. This interest led her to the prosthetic and orthotic industry, where practitioners aim to help those with functional limitations achieve more normal gait patterns. Shannon worked as a technician for three years building artificial limbs and braces in order to further her knowledge in the field, and has an in-depth knowledge of material science.
Shannon's knowledge of biomechanics sets her apart as she uses these principles in her daily evaluations of patients to achieve optimal outcomes. She is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and has experience serving both pediatric and adult patients. As owner/practitioner of Mobility Solutions Prosthetics and Orthotics, Shannon is committed to providing the highest level of care, service and education to patients, referral sources and third party payers. Shannon is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) and the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA). Languages spoken include English, Spanish and some experience with sign language.
